Battery & Inverter
Why Is My Solar Battery Not Charging?
A battery that appears not to charge may have a battery fault, but the cause can also be the inverter, solar input, communication system, configuration or protection.
Check the energy source
The inverter first needs adequate charging energy from solar, grid or another configured source. Low photovoltaic voltage, protection faults or incorrect charging priorities can prevent charging.
Lithium batteries depend on communication
Many lithium systems use a battery management system that communicates operating limits and battery status to the inverter. Communication failure or incompatible protocols can restrict or stop charging.
Configuration and battery condition matter
Charging voltage, current limits, state-of-charge settings, temperature protection and battery condition should be checked before concluding that the entire battery requires replacement.
